Does the rice-sized or pea-sized advice apply?
The American Dental Association’s advice about a rice-sized smear for children under 3 and a pea-sized amount for ages 3 to 6 concerns fluoride toothpaste. For a fluoride-free product, follow its directions and ask your child’s dentist if the amount is unclear. The photo above shows the two amounts dental groups describe for fluoride toothpaste; it is not a direction for Tooth Wizard.
Help with the toothpaste and the brushing
Put the directed amount on the brush, help your child brush and have them spit out the excess. Keep the tube out of reach afterward.
How much Tooth Wizard should I use?
A pea-sized amount, as the tube directs: brush gently for 2 minutes, 2 to 3 times a day, then spit out the extra without rinsing. The tube doesn’t give a separate amount by age, so if you are unsure what suits your child, ask their dentist.
